Amy Adams Was In Smallville.. It’s fair to say Amy Adam’s Lois Lane was a little different to what had come  before. Knowing Superman long before she met Clark, the secret identity side of  their relationship has been thankfully negated. Her performance shining through  the rather restrictive script likely comes from Adams having a long time to refine the character; she’d auditioned for Lois twice before (once for Superman  Returns and the other for an unrealised Brett Ratner version). But despite the long wait to finally play the role, this wasn’t the Oscar nominee’s first time in the world of Krypton and Metropolis; she appeared in an episode of Smallville. Donning a fat suit she played Jodi Melville, an occasional journalist obsessed with being thin, she developed the ability to absorb fat. Let’s just say her Lois was more believable.
