DID YOU KNOW?
Back in 1981, when Hasbro was developing the G.I. Joe: Real American Hero toyline, comic creator and Marvel editor Larry Hama was coincidentally also pitching a comic titled Fury Force that would center on a group of elite soldiers, including Nick Fury’s son. Hasbro would then go to Marvel to work out a partnership to use their characters to make comics.

As many diehard G.I. Joe fans know, Hama would eventually sign on to help create the G.I. Joe comic. After signing on with G.I. Joe, it seems that he used and adapted many of the concepts and characters from Fury Force to G.I. Joe.

While most famous for acts of domestic and global terrorism, Cobra still used their legal and illegal business dealings as a source of income. When they started out in Springfield, they began by setting up various telephone scams, pyramid schemes, and other financial crimes. These activities funded their early efforts but remained in place once they had set their sights even higher.

Once Cobra became a sovereign nation, they used their diplomatic status to build a consulate building in New York. Once they had this, they were able to use diplomatic immunity to cover up a wider range of crimes free from prosecution. The Joes hid spy technology in the consulate building eventually, which allowed them to unravel some of their schemes.

Snake Eyes is not only a master of ninjitsu, mystical arts, and espionage, but he’s also a master combatant and artillery specialist. Fellow GI Joe Scarlett has labeled him “3-Bravo-0,” Baddest Butt-Kicker Bar None. He’s an expert in all NATO and Warsaw Pact arms. He’s also a black belt in twelve various martial art forms, which include: Karate, Kung-Fu, Ninjitsu, Tae Kwan Do, and more. Snake Eyes is highly skilled in edged weapons, and he’s particularly a master swordsman, never leaving for a mission without his Mikimoto Japanese sword. He’s an expert in firearms and explosives, and he makes it a point not to be fully dependent on one particular weapon.

He’s also an expert at mountaineering, underwater demolitions, jungle, desert, and arctic survivalism. His survivalist skills are unmatched, but he’s not just an adept militarist. He’s also a medicinal practitioner of alternative, herbalistic medicine.
