Whenever you think “Hulk,” you think green. The two are intrinsically linked. Yet, when the Hulk first appeared in 1963, he was actually meant to be gray. However, due to the fact the printer couldn’t provide a consistent gray color, the Hulk would change from gray to black to other shades of gray from page to page and panel to panel. In order to address the issue, Stan Lee choose to go with a color that would come off the printing press with fewer issues: the now-iconic green.

If it wasn't for a delay in sending Daredevil #1 to the printer, The Avengers might never have existed. According to Marvel's Senior Vice President of Publishing, Tom Brevoort, when the publisher realized that the first issue of Daredevil wasn't going to be ready in time for its scheduled run at the printer, Stan Lee proposed the idea of bringing a bunch of existing Marvel characters together on the same team, much like DC had done with the Justice League of America. By doing so, they wouldn't need to create complicated origin stories for the individual members, thereby jumping right into whatever adventure Lee and Jack Kirby could come up with on short notice. The pair brainstormed for a while and came up with The Avengers, then hastily put together the first issue and sent it off to the printer. **

The original time of day was daytime, but the weather in the final version is overcast. The TV in the streets had the Regime's logo which faded to Superman with glowing eyes and then back again. The final versions have just the logo. In an earlier version, it shows the Daily Planet logo as unfinished on the rooftops, but in the final versions it's shown.
