In 1991, Sony revealed that it was working on a new version of the SNES, complete with a CD-ROM drive - it was to be called the “Play Station”. However, Nintendo pulled out of the partnership, and Sony’s enraged president Norio Ohga instructed his engineers to keep working on the technology. The resulting PlayStation console was announced in 1993, under its working title, PS-X.

From Princess Bubblegum's amulet hanging on the tree to nuclear bombs scattered around, the opening of "Adventure Time" reveals a lot about the show. Fan theories suggest that items in the title sequence, and throughout the show, indicate the Great Mushroom War began in the '80s and that the severed arm which appears in the opening actually belongs to Shoko, one of Finn's past lives who lost her arm after her parents supposedly sold it for a computer. This Shoko connection might also explain why Finn lost his right arm for a portion of the series.

Zelda borrows elements from Super Mario Bros. Mario and Zelda were actually developed at the same time, with Miyamoto deciding on a case-by-case basis whether a new idea or element was more of a Mario or Zelda thing. This led to some crossover, such as the firebar, which was created for Zelda, making it’s way into Mario Bros. It went the other way too though — Mario’s piranha plant enemies ended up in Zelda as the enemies known as “Manhandla”.
