Umbrella was a giant conglomerate which operated ruthlessly as a major international player in a number of markets; including pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, as well as top-secret operations utilizing genetic engineering and biological weaponry. The company also had a more benevolent public face for the ignorant masses, producing cosmetics, consumer products and foods.
A subsidiary of Umbrella operated as a malevolent paramilitary organization. This division of the corporation maintained a highly trained security force capable of rescue, reconnaissance, and paramilitary operations. They used a variety of vehicles, including HUMVEEs. Complementing this security force was an air wing, which maintained a fleet of UH-60 Black Hawks, AV-8 Harrier VTOL jets, C-130 Hercules water-landing capable cargo planes, CH-53 Sea Stallion cargo helicopters for transporting prisoners and MH-6 Little Bird attack helicopters. For the most part, the Suicide Squad is an all around villain-fest, but some of the greatest members have actually been heroes! Heroes have regularly joined the ranks over the years to assist the team with missions involving direct conflicts with either America, or the Justice League. Often times, the heroes that are recruited have ties to the government or very specific abilities that could aid in a certain mission. Some examples of government influenced roster additions have been Sergeant Steel, Unknown Soldier, and Power Girl.
Perhaps the most notable and important hero squad member was Barbara Gordon as The Oracle. After Barbara was paralyzed from the waist down by The Joker, she couldn’t maintain her spot as Batgirl. This is why she then put her hacking skills to use by becoming The Oracle. She would often run the technical sides of ops for the squad, allowing them access to servers and buildings. She remained on the team for some time, but later moved on to aid Batman in his crusade once again. Her time on the squad was not only a great shake-up, but her contributions were invaluable.

Deadpool is an anti-hero to the core, but in his heart he’s a good guy (most of the time). While he has killed hundreds of people and constantly torments those closest to him, Deadpool has shown great compassion in brief, intimate moments. He has even been seen donating his organs and sacrificing his body for others.

Most people know Deadpool for constantly breaking the fourth wall and talking directly to the readers (or even the writers and illustrators). These breaks are often hilarious and act as great pop-culture references. Unfortunately, there is a darker undertone to these moments. With the self-awareness of knowing he is nothing more than a character in a comic book and at the dispense of the writers, Deadpool has been seen as discouraged and pained by his existence.
In fact, there have been several times in which Deadpool has addressed the existence of the fourth wall as something emotionally crushing. As we see in Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe and Deadpool Roasts The Marvel Universe, Wade is unbelievably depressed by the weight of knowing that he exists only as a means of entertainment for all of us.

If you’ve watched the first Thor movie (and read the comic if it says it in there too), Odin whispers to the hammer that if the wielder is worthy, they will be granted the power of Thor. Although he doesn’t lift it in the movie, Captain America is very much worthy and during a battle he lifted Thor’s hammer and managed to use it against his foes. Never has a level of awesomeness been so high.
