Wade Wilson is a former test subject of the Weapon X program, possessing a regenerative healing factor (like that of Wolverine), as well as an unstable compiling of other "Weapon X" experiments. Deadpool's powers and personality traits combine to make a wild, mentally unstable, and unpredictable mercenary. Deadpool is a former member of X-Force, a self-professed member of the X-Men and Avengers and has recently joined the Thunderbolts. The "Merc with a Mouth" is infamous for breaking the fourth wall.

Captain America Comics #1 is one of the world’s most valuable comics, with a near-mint condition copy valued at around $115,000 by comics price guide. Not too shabby when you consider it cost a mere 10 cents back in 1941! And as much as we love Cap, I somehow doubt we’ll be picking up an issue anytime soon!

The Hulk was originally gray, not green. After exposure to a gamma radiation blast, scientist Bruce Banner turned into the gray-skinned Hulk from sunset to sunrise. However, the gray color was difficult to print and by issue No. 2 of "The Incredible Hulk" comic book series, Hulk turned into the hyperbolically muscled Green genes we know today.

If you’ve watched the first Thor movie (and read the comic if it says it in there too), Odin whispers to the hammer that if the wielder is worthy, they will be granted the power of Thor. Although he doesn’t lift it in the movie, Captain America is very much worthy and during a battle he lifted Thor’s hammer and managed to use it against his foes. Never has a level of awesomeness been so high.

Whenever you think “Hulk,” you think green. The two are intrinsically linked. Yet, when the Hulk first appeared in 1963, he was actually meant to be gray. However, due to the fact the printer couldn’t provide a consistent gray color, the Hulk would change from gray to black to other shades of gray from page to page and panel to panel. In order to address the issue, Stan Lee choose to go with a color that would come off the printing press with fewer issues: the now-iconic green.

Years ago, some of the Marvel Universe’s best and brightest superheroes came together to form a secret Illuminati which could make the hard decisions for what they believed was the greater good of the Marvel Universe.
Members included men like Iron Man, Mister Fantastic, and Doctor Strange, and after yet another rampage in Las Vegas, this secret group decided to send the Hulk into outer space upon realising that he was a threat which couldn’t be contained any other way. This was a huge betrayal to the Green Goliath, and it took him off the table for Civil War. Rumour has it that this will happen in the MCU at some point.

The magical hammer Mjolnir isn't the only weapon Thor relies upon in the Marvel Comics universe. His enchanted Belt of Strength is also an important—if frequently overlooked—element of his arsenal, as it enhances his strength to almost double its otherwise impressive level. In Norse mythology, these two items are accompanied by magical, iron gloves that allow him to wield Mjolnir.

30 hammers were made for Thor of various weights for different uses. The main hammer was made of aluminium and softer versions were used for stunts. A lit hammer was made, that emitted light when lightning strikes.

The MCU isn’t afraid to go nonlinear in the future, as “Guardians” will be setting up events for the second “Avengers” sequel. The big bad villain for next year’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is the maniacal robot Ultron. Thanos will be the main antagonist for “Avengers 3″ and “Guardians” will be our first trip out into space, which is the main reason we’re being introduced to the Guardians this early on. Writer-director James Gunn has said as such himself, that it’s “definitely connected to Avengers 3.”

Political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability when the actions of the Avengers lead to collateral damage. The new status quo deeply divides members of the team. Captain America (Chris Evans) believes superheroes should remain free to defend humanity without government interference. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) sharply disagrees and supports oversight. As the debate escalates into an all-out feud, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) must pick a side.

When Stan Lee was tasked with creating a new superhero to follow in the footsteps of the Fantastic Four (who were extremely popular at the time), he thought up Marvel’s next hit after seeing a fly on the wall. According to the legendary comic book writer, that got him thinking about a hero who could stick to walls, and “Fly-Man” and “Insect-Man” were some of his ideas before “Spider-Man”. There’s famously a lot of controversy about how much of a role Steve Ditko played in his creation, but Spider-Man – who Marvel bosses at the time thought was a terrible idea – could have ended up being a very different character.

Jim Shooter, Marvel’s editor-in-chief in the ’80s, bought the idea for Spider-Man’s black costume from a fan for $220, and gave the fan a shot at writing the comic, though that didn’t work out. The black costume was introduced as an alien “symbiote” and eventually became one of Spider-Man’s most famous villains, Venom.

While Stan Lee initially came up with the idea for a “quintessential capitalist” hero and many of the character's traits, he didn't write the story in Tales of Suspense #39 that introduced Iron Man to the world. A looming deadline forced him to hand over the scripting duties for that issue to Larry Lieber, and it was Lieber, cover artist Jack Kirby, and interior artist Don Heck who shared the bulk of creative duties for the issue. Kirby is credited with the design of Iron Man's first armor, while Heck is credited with the look of Tony Stark, Pepper Potts, and the other characters introduced inside the issue.
