DID YOU KNOW?
Most people know Deadpool for constantly breaking the fourth wall and talking directly to the readers (or even the writers and illustrators). These breaks are often hilarious and act as great pop-culture references. Unfortunately, there is a darker undertone to these moments. With the self-awareness of knowing he is nothing more than a character in a comic book and at the dispense of the writers, Deadpool has been seen as discouraged and pained by his existence.

In fact, there have been several times in which Deadpool has addressed the existence of the fourth wall as something emotionally crushing. As we see in Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe and Deadpool Roasts The Marvel Universe, Wade is unbelievably depressed by the weight of knowing that he exists only as a means of entertainment for all of us.

Cotton Division OFFICIAL MARVEL COMICS DEADPOOL PLAYING CARDS BLACK T-SHIRT

DID YOU KNOW?
The red suit isn’t just so bad guys won’t see him bleed, but is actually inspired by the web-slinger himself, Spider-Man. Though Deadpool was conceptualized as a character easy to draw so that the artists would make deadlines quicker, his creators were also inspired by Spider-Man’s costume. Later on, this inspiration was translated into the comics by having Deadpool admire Spider-Man and even constantly try to win him over as his best friend.

On top of this, Wade Wilson was also highly inspired by the DC character Slade Wilson, also known as the Teen Titans adversary, Deathstroke. Both men are mercenaries, are physically enhanced, have an affinity for battle, use swords, and have a huge arsenal of guns. So, Deadpool’s suit isn’t the only thing directly inspired by other characters. Luckily, Deadpool still stands on his own as a character, despite all of these inspirations.

OFFICIAL MARVEL COMICS GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY SILHOUETTE...

DID YOU KNOW?
The Guardians were actually formed to fight an alien race called the Badoon, which had taken over most of the galaxy in 3007 A.D., and had destroyed a significant portion of the humans throughout the galaxy. They'd occasionally call heroes like Captain America to the future to lend them a hand, or even travel back to the 20th century to get info about an earlier failed Badoon invasion and completely mess with the timeline (e.g., 20th-century astronaut Vance Astro meeting his younger self, awakening his superpowers early, and basically leading to him becoming an entirely different superhero).

DID YOU KNOW?
Peter Quill's mother Meredith was impregnated when the planets of the solar system aligned in a particularly sexy way. Now, Meredith was married, but this guy failed to see his resemblance in the space baby and assumed his wife had cheated on him. He did not take this well, and tried to kill baby Peter, failing only because he had a heart attack at the last minute. Marvel retconned this before too long, because it's pretty messed-up. Instead, Meredith got knocked up by a humanoid alien named J'son from Spartoi, who leaves because his people are in a war with another alien race, and because it's too dangerous to take his new family. Thus he becomes an intergalactic deadbeat dad, leaving nothing behind for his son but his element gun.

Deciding to leave the Ravagers, he stole the Orb, unintentionally becoming a part of the Quest for the Orb. During the Quest, he formed an uneasy alliance with Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot, and helped stop Ronan the Accuser from destroying Xandar. After the Battle of Xandar, he left with the other Guardians to do "a little bit of bad and a little bit of good".

Since the trailer debuted, everyone's been trying to figure out what the shirt says, or if it's a logo of some kind. Unfortunately, the language on the shirt is one that none of us will be able to read any time soon. Chris Pratt was asked if he could translate the words on the shirt, and he revealed that it's got roots in a much deeper part of the galaxy. "Somebody can, because it’s a real language apparently. They’ve created a real alphabet, but it’s from - I think, I might be making this up – I think it’s from a candy wrapper from the first movie. This is like a space brand of some kind so it’s like on my shirt the way anyone would be wearing an ironic Reese’s Pieces shirt or something like that." If that's true, that t-shirt Easter Egg is a deep cut to the first film. Now, it's likely every big Guardians fan will rush home, pop in the Blu-Ray, and try to find the mysterious candy wrapper they didn't notice the first time around.
